SFDGC 25th Anniversary Custom Dyes

In 1997 I founded the San Francisco Disc Golf club with a goal of getting the first disc golf course approved and installed in San Francisco. It took us ten years to get the final course approved and installed (it was quite a battle). So 2022 marked the 15th birthday of the Golden Gate Park Disc Golf Course – and the club focused its energies and attention on that.

I wanted to do something special to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the club, and was working on a design when a longstanding club member, former club president, and one of my best friends in disc golf took his own life. We held a memorial tournament in his honor, with all proceeds benefitting the Juvenile BiPolar Research Foundation.

In order to generate larger contributions to the tournament, I offered a custom 25th Anniversary dye to anyone who contributed $50 or more to the tournament. The response was so strong, I had to put a time limit on the offer.

It took me a few months to find the time to do them all, see the accompanying gallery of images. Stencil for the lettering and the bridge. Hot dip for the lettering and some bridges, hand-painted bridges on others.

Spin dyes or shaving cream beds for additional coloring on the front, spin dyes on the backside.
